The Rainbow Village is, undoubtedly, one of the most colorful places I`ve been and seen in the world. Located in the suburbs of Taichung, the Rainbow Village results of the preseverance of a man, Huang Yong Fu.
According to the facts, this retired soldier has started to paint the wall of his house after hearing that the military dependents’ village (where he has been living for almost 40 yars) was about to be destroyed.
Fu’s goal was to show his love and homesick for this place. What started inside his house gradually turned to the outside and, nowadays, after 4 years of paintings, made this village an impressive open-air museum.
In my opinion the Rainbow Villages worths a visit. From Taichung train station you can easily get the local bus #27 and leave in the last stop, Ling Tung University.
