Chaves is another historical city that I visited when I went to the north of Portugal. Crossed by Tâmega river, Chaves has in Trajano bridge one of his icons: left from the roman period, this pedestrian bridge connects both sides of the city.
Just a few km from Spain, Chaves presents some defensive structures, like the forts of São Neutel and São Francisco, besides the tower of the medieval castle, from where you can start to discover the old town, with its cobblestone streets.
Another highlight of Chaves are the roman baths, right in the center, close to the river and a must stop! During the next few days (it´s February already!!!) will share some photos from this city here and, on a daily basis, in my instagram. Enjoy!
